Buckeye Expo was started in 1994 from a need in the community.  Buckeye Expo launched its first show, Buckeye Tool Show, in February 1995.  This show focuses on the tools that woodworkers and contractors would need/use.  After a few years there was a need for a wholesale only furniture show to help support the local Amish and Mennonite woodshops that were springing up in the area.  By 1997 the first Buckeye Furniture Show was off and running. 

Both shows continued to grow and soon outgrew the Kidron Cheese House.  The Buckeye Furniture Show was moved to the Wayne County Fairgrounds and the Buckeye Tool show unfortunately needed to remain at the Kidron Cheese House because of the Airworks Auction that ran parallel with the show.  This made our choices where to move limited.  His caused a 5-year waiting list for vendors to participate in the Buckeye Tool show.  As the years went by, the Buckeye Furniture show was also reaching capacity at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. 

In the fall of 2008, we were able to secure a site on P. Graham Dunn’s campus and build a 62,000+ facility called the Buckeye Event Center to house both shows.  This business grew to expand and host shows that were in the area but also needed more room to grow.  For almost 8 years we hosted a variety of shows from home and garden, sportsman show, dairy conferences, wedding receptions, auctions, private business shows for their customers, banquets, volleyball, and more.  This gained us valuable experience in how to make events come together and ensure they went without hiccups.  From the behind the scenes to as much as the customer wanted us to help with the preplanning. 

With the growth of P. Graham Dunn they purchased the building from us so they could continue to expand their business in 2016.  Since that time, several events that had rented our facility have hired Buckeye Expo to coordinate their events.  Most have now allowed us to do the entire event for them from start to finish.  It’s been fun and exciting to be involved with these events.  We host these events at different places in Wayne, Medina and Holmes County and as far away as Indiana.
